How to use the BG remover in 3 steps

  1. Add a photo

Drop it, paste it with Ctrl+V / ⌘V, or choose it from your phone or computer. JPG, PNG and WebP work.

  2. Wait a few seconds

The Alpha 1 model runs on your device, finds the subject and removes the background. The checkerboard behind the subject means it is transparent.

  3. Download

Download a transparent PNG, or choose a background colour or image first and download that. If something is left over, use Edit cutout to fix it.

Private by design: your photo is never uploaded

With Alphelo, the Alpha 1 model is downloaded to your browser once and runs on your own device. Your photo is never sent anywhere, so we cannot see, store or recover it. Alphelo sets no cookies and uses no analytics or ads. Details are in our privacy policy.

Free, with no account and no watermark

There are no credits to buy, no sign-up and no watermark on the result. Use it as often as you like.

What is a BG remover?

A BG remover, short for background remover, is a tool that cuts the subject out of a photo and deletes everything behind it. People use it for product photos, profile pictures, stickers, presentations and designs. You may also see it called a background eraser, a cutout tool or an image background remover.

Why Alphelo works differently

Many online BG removers send your photo to a server. Alphelo runs the Alpha 1 model inside your browser, on your own device, so your photo is never uploaded. The model is downloaded once and your browser keeps it, so later visits start faster.
